Not receiving agent updates Troubleshooting
If your agent isn't keeping you posted, the fix is usually a quiet notification setting or a delivery channel that isn't connected yet.

When an agent runs but you never hear about it, the cause is almost always one of two things: the agent's notifications are set to stay quiet, or the channel it's meant to reach you on isn't connected yet. This guide walks through both, in the order worth checking.
Start with the agent's notification settings
Each agent decides how it keeps you posted on its own Settings tab. If it was set up to work silently, it will complete its tasks without ever pinging you.
- Open the agent from your Agents list and go to its Settings tab.
- Find the notification or channel settings and confirm the agent is set to notify you, not to stay quiet.
- Check how it's meant to reach you, for example an email summary or a message on a chat channel.
You can also adjust this in plain English on the Build tab. Tell the AI builder something like "email me a summary every time you finish" or "message me on WhatsApp when you're done," and it will update the setting for you.
Tip: If you only want to hear about certain results, you can be specific with the builder, for example "only notify me when you find something that needs my attention." That reduces noise without going fully silent.
Confirm the delivery channel is connected
An agent can only reach you on a channel that's actually set up. Email works out of the box, but chat channels like WhatsApp need to be connected before an agent can deliver to them.
- If your agent is set to notify you by email, check that the messages aren't landing in spam or a filtered folder. Add the sender to your contacts so future updates arrive cleanly.
- If your agent is meant to reach you on a chat channel, make sure that channel is connected on your account. An unconnected channel means the agent has nowhere to send the update.
- Some channels are available on specific plans. If a channel isn't offered on your current plan, choose one that is, or switch the agent to email in the meantime.
Check that the agent actually ran
Sometimes the update is missing because the run itself didn't happen, or produced nothing worth sending.
- Open the agent's Deliveries tab to see the outputs it has produced. If deliveries are there but you weren't notified, the issue is the notification setting or channel, not the run.
- Review the agent's recent activity to confirm its tasks and triggers are running when you expect. An agent that hasn't run yet has nothing to report.
- Do a quick Test run from the agent's page. A test confirms end to end whether the agent completes its work and whether the update reaches you.
If updates arrive but look empty or generic
Occasionally you'll get the notification, but it doesn't contain what you expected. That usually points to the agent's setup rather than its delivery.
- If the summary is thin, ask the AI builder on the Build tab to include more detail in what it sends you.
- If the agent's results themselves seem off-target, it may be missing context. Adding the right material to its Knowledge often sharpens both its work and its updates.
Still not hearing from your agent?
Work through this quick checklist before reaching out:
| Check | What to confirm |
|---|---|
| Notifications | The agent is set to notify you, not to stay quiet |
| Channel | The delivery channel (email or chat) is connected and available on your plan |
| Email delivery | Updates aren't caught in spam or a filtered folder |
| Runs | The agent is actually running, with outputs on the Deliveries tab |
If everything checks out and updates still aren't reaching you, contact support with the agent's name and roughly when you expected to hear from it, and the team can help track it down.
