Choosing when Praxivara asks first (Auto, Manual, Bypass)

You choose when Praxivara checks with you before it acts. Here's how Auto, Manual and Bypass permissions work, and how to answer when it asks.

On this page

You choose when Praxivara checks with you before it acts. Pick a permission mode once and it applies to all your chats, including new ones.

The three modes

  • Auto (recommended, and the default). Praxivara decides when to check with you. It always asks before sending an email.
  • Manual. Asks before anything that sends, changes or deletes. Reading and searching run freely.
  • Bypass permissions. Runs without asking. A few high-risk actions may still check with you. Emails, messages and changes go out without a check.

Changing your mode

Click the mode button under the chat box and pick a mode. You can also change it in Settings, under Permissions. The change takes effect right away, in every chat.

When it asks

A short prompt appears above the chat box. It shows what the assistant wants to do, such as who an email goes to and what it says. Choose one:

  • Allow once runs it this time. Praxivara remembers your answer in that chat, so it won't ask again there for the same thing.
  • Always allow lets that whole action, such as sending email from Gmail, run without asking in every chat.
  • Deny skips it, and nothing is sent or changed. You can tell the assistant what to do instead.

On a keyboard, press Esc to deny, Ctrl+Enter to allow once, or Ctrl+Shift+Enter to always allow. On a Mac, use Command instead of Ctrl.

A few high-risk actions can't be set to Always allow.

Your Always allowed list

Everything you set to Always allow runs without asking, in every chat and every mode, until you remove it. To review the list, click the mode button under the chat box and choose Always allowed, or go to Settings, then Permissions. Remove one action, or remove them all.

On your phone, by email and on calls

Your mode applies on WhatsApp, SMS, iMessage, Telegram, email and phone calls too. When it needs to ask, it sends you a message:

  • Reply YES to allow it, or NO to skip it.
  • Reply YES ALWAYS to add it to your Always allowed list, when the message offers that.

On a phone call, it asks out loud, so just say yes or no. In a live voice conversation in the app, you can answer out loud or with the buttons on screen. After a yes, it carries on with the rest of the job.

Agents

Each agent has its own setting: Auto or Bypass permissions. You'll find it on the agent's Settings tab, under Permissions. New agents start on Auto.

When an agent on Auto needs your OK, it messages you on your preferred channel and shows the request in the agent's Activity. Choose Allow once or Deny there, or reply to the message. Agents don't use your Always allowed list.

Background tasks

Tasks the assistant runs in the background follow your mode too. A task never contacts you itself. When it needs your OK or has a question, your assistant asks you. It asks in the chat that started the task, or by message if you started it from your phone. Only you can answer: the assistant never approves anything on your behalf.
