A shared credit pool lets you fund one workspace centrally and hand credits out to the people on your team, so everyone works from the same balance instead of managing their own. As the workspace owner, you buy the pool on a recurring basis and decide how much each member receives.

Before you begin

A few things to know as you set this up:

  • Only the workspace owner can buy and renew the shared credit pool. Team admins can help manage members, but purchasing the pool is reserved for the owner.
  • The pool belongs to a single workspace. Each workspace you own tracks its own balance and usage separately, so credits do not move between workspaces.
  • The pool renews on a recurring cycle and is billed to the payment method on the workspace owner's account.

Tip: Make sure you are in the right workspace before you start. Open the account menu at the bottom of the sidebar and confirm the active workspace has a checkmark. Credits and usage always reflect the workspace you are currently in.

Buy the shared credit pool

  1. Open Settings and go to the billing area for the active workspace.
  2. Find the shared credit pool option for the workspace.
  3. Choose the recurring pool amount you want for the team.
  4. Confirm your payment method and complete the purchase.

Once the purchase goes through, the pool becomes available to the workspace and will renew automatically on each cycle. You can return to the same place at any time to review the balance or adjust the pool.

Distribute credits to members

After the pool is funded, you can allocate credits to the individual members of the workspace. This lets you give each person the amount they need for their work while keeping everything drawn from the same shared balance.

  1. Open the Workspace settings and go to the Team tab.
  2. Select the member you want to allocate credits to.
  3. Set the amount of credits to hand out to that member.
  4. Save your changes. The member can then use those credits within the workspace.

You can revisit the Team tab whenever you need to raise, lower, or rebalance what each member has as your team's needs change.

Managing the pool over time

Adjusting the recurring amount

If your team grows or your usage changes, you can change the recurring pool amount from the same billing area where you first bought it. The new amount applies going forward on the next cycle.

Keeping an eye on usage

Because each workspace tracks its own balance and usage period, the clearest view of how the pool is being used is from within that workspace. Switch into the workspace, then check its billing and usage details to see the current balance and how credits are being consumed.

Note: A shared credit pool and paid seats are separate things. Seats let teammates join and work inside your workspace, while the credit pool funds the credits they use. You manage both from the Workspace settings, but they are billed and adjusted independently.

Frequently confused points

  • Credits look different after switching workspaces. Each workspace has its own pool and usage period, so what you see always reflects the active workspace.
  • A member says they have no credits. Confirm the pool is funded and that you have allocated credits to that specific member on the Team tab.
  • You do not see the option to buy the pool. Buying the pool is limited to the workspace owner. If you are a team admin or member, ask the owner to fund it.
