Once your workspace is a team, you can keep it tidy over time: move a teammate to a different seat plan, switch how their seat is billed, give them a clear display name, or remove them when they no longer need access. These controls live on the Team tab of your Workspace settings and are available to the workspace owner and team admins.
Who can manage members
Only the workspace owner and team admins can change, reprice, or remove members. A plain member cannot edit other people's seats or invite new teammates.
To reach these controls, open Workspace settings from the sidebar and select the Team tab. There you'll see everyone in the workspace, along with their role and seat, plus any pending invites that haven't been accepted yet.
Note: Every teammate takes a paid seat that is billed on the workspace owner's card. Changes you make to a member's seat affect what the workspace is billed.
Change a member's seat plan (repricing)
If a teammate needs more capability — or less — you can move their seat to a different plan without removing and re-inviting them.
- Open Workspace settings and go to the Team tab.
- Find the member and open their seat options.
- Choose the new plan for that seat.
- Save your change.
The teammate keeps their account and their place in the workspace; only the capabilities and billing tied to their seat change. Repricing takes effect for the current billing period, so a plan change is reflected on your next invoice.
Higher plans unlock more
Some capabilities are only available on higher plans. If a teammate needs a feature they can't access, moving their seat up to a plan that includes it is usually the fix.
Switch a member's billing cycle
Each seat is billed on a cycle you choose — monthly or yearly. You can change a member's cycle from the same seat options on the Team tab.
- Open the member's seat options.
- Select the billing cycle you want for that seat.
- Save.
Yearly cycles are a good fit for long-term teammates, while monthly gives you flexibility for shorter engagements. The new cycle applies going forward.
Set a member's display name
A clear display name makes it easy to tell teammates apart on the Team tab, especially when several people share a similar email domain.
- Open the member's seat on the Team tab.
- Enter or update the display name you want shown for them.
- Save your change.
This is a label for how the person appears within your workspace and doesn't change the email their account signs in with.
Remove a member
When someone no longer needs access, you can remove them from the workspace. Removing a member frees up their seat.
- Go to the Team tab in Workspace settings.
- Find the member you want to remove.
- Open their seat options and choose to remove them.
- Confirm the removal.
Once removed, the person can no longer switch into your workspace, and it disappears from their workspace list. Anything that lives in the workspace — chats, agents, integrations and files — stays in the workspace and remains available to the remaining team.
Revoking a pending invite
If you invited the wrong address, or someone hasn't accepted yet, you don't have to wait. Find the pending seat on the Team tab and revoke the invite. That releases the reserved seat.
Tip: Members can also leave a workspace on their own at any time from their account menu. Removing a member is the admin-side equivalent when you need to make the change yourself.
A note on your own workspace
These member controls apply to teammates in a workspace you administer. Your own account and the workspace you own aren't affected when you reprice or remove someone else. If you belong to several teams, remember that the seat plan you use inside another person's workspace is the one their admin assigned to you.
