You can move to a higher or lower plan whenever your needs change. Plan changes take effect immediately, are prorated, and show you the exact amount due today before you confirm.

Where to change your plan

All plan changes happen on your Billing page. Open Settings → Billing to see your current plan, your next renewal date, and the options to upgrade or downgrade.

Before switching, you can compare each plan's highlights side by side so you can see what you gain or give up. When you select a new plan, an order summary shows the amount due today, including any applicable tax calculated from your billing address.

Note: If your plan is provided through a workspace, billing is managed by your workspace admin. In that case there's nothing for you to change or pay here.

Upgrading to a higher plan

When you upgrade, the new plan and its features become available right away.

  1. Open Settings → Billing.
  2. Choose the plan you'd like to move up to.
  3. Review the order summary, which shows the prorated amount due today.
  4. Confirm the change.

Because the change takes effect immediately, you're charged the prorated difference for the rest of your current billing period. The summary reflects this before you confirm, so there are no surprises.

Downgrading to a lower plan

You can move to a lower plan at any time using the same steps above and selecting the plan you'd like to move down to.

When you downgrade, any amount you've already paid for the current period is credited toward your future charges rather than lost. The order summary reflects this before you confirm.

Switching between monthly and yearly billing

Plans can be billed monthly or yearly, and yearly billing costs less over the year. You can switch your billing cycle from the Billing page when you select a plan. As with any plan change, the amount due today is prorated and shown before you confirm.

Understanding the amount due today

Every plan change shows a clear order summary before you confirm. It reflects:

  • The prorated difference for the remainder of your current billing period on an upgrade.
  • Credit from what you've already paid, applied to future charges, on a downgrade.
  • Any applicable sales tax or VAT, calculated from your billing address.

Your total monthly cost may differ from a plan's headline price if you have add-ons such as extra seats or phone numbers. These are itemized in your billing details.

If a plan change doesn't go through

Your payment was declined

If the card on file is declined during a plan change, the change won't be applied and you'll stay on your current plan. Add or update a card under Settings → Billing, make sure your billing address is complete, and try again.

The button shows "Current plan"

A plan you're already on appears as your current plan and can't be selected again. Choose a different plan to make a change.

Your billing status looks out of date

If your plan or status doesn't reflect a recent change, use the refresh option on the Billing page to pull the latest details.

From the Billing page you can also manage the cards on file, update your billing address, and download past invoices. To see how your credits and storage have been used this period, open Settings → Usage.
