Why your total differs from the plan's list price Guide
Your monthly total reflects your plan plus any add-ons, extra seats, phone numbers, taxes, and billing cadence you've chosen.

On this page
The price you see advertised for a plan is its base rate. Your actual monthly total can be higher because it also includes anything you've added on top of that plan — extra seats, phone numbers, additional storage, and applicable tax. This article explains each part so your bill always makes sense.
Where to see your real total
Your true monthly total is shown on the Billing page, not on the plan comparison view.
- Open Settings → Billing.
- Look at your current plan card. It shows your plan, its status, your next renewal date, and your total monthly cost including everything you've added.
- If the numbers look out of date, use Refresh to re-sync with the latest billing information.
Tip: The list price on the plan chooser reflects the base plan only. The Billing page is always the source of truth for what you'll actually be charged.
What can add to your total
Add-ons and extra capacity
If you've purchased additional storage or turned on extras beyond your base plan, those recur alongside your plan and are part of your monthly total.
Extra seats
Plans include a set amount of usage, but if you've added seats for teammates, each additional seat adds to your recurring cost.
Phone numbers
If your setup includes one or more phone numbers, each number is billed as part of your subscription and is reflected in the total.
Tax or VAT
Applicable sales tax or VAT is calculated from your billing address and added to your total. You'll always see the tax amount on the order summary before you confirm a purchase, and it's itemized on your invoices.
Monthly vs. yearly billing
Your total also depends on how often you're billed. Yearly billing is offered at a lower effective rate than paying month to month, so two accounts on the same plan can see different amounts depending on the cadence they chose. You can switch between monthly and yearly billing at any time from the Billing page.
Why a recent change moved your total
If you recently upgraded, downgraded, or adjusted add-ons, your total may look different because those changes take effect right away. When you change plans, the amount due today is prorated and shown before you confirm, and any credit from what you already paid is applied toward future charges. After a change settles, your recurring total reflects the new plan and any add-ons.
Check the itemized breakdown
To see exactly what makes up your total:
- On the Billing page, review the summary on your current plan card.
- Download a recent invoice to see each line item, including add-ons, seats, phone numbers, and tax, listed separately.
- For how much you've used within your plan this period, open Settings → Usage.
If your plan comes through a workspace
When your access is provided through a workspace, billing is handled by your workspace admin. In that case there's nothing for you to pay or manage on your own Billing page, and any questions about the total should go to your admin.
