Connecting Google lets you sign in to Praxivara with one tap instead of typing your email and password each time. You can link it whenever you like and unlink it just as easily, and doing so never touches your chats, agents, or settings.
Connect Google for one-tap sign-in
Linking Google adds it as a sign-in method alongside your email and password. Once connected, you can choose the Google option on the sign-in screen for faster access.
- Open Settings and go to the Security tab.
- Find the Connected sign-in methods section.
- Choose Connect on the Google row.
- Follow Google's prompt to choose your account and grant permission.
When the link is complete, Google appears as a connected method in your Security settings.
Note: The Google account you use to sign in is separate from Google connected as an integration for the assistant. Linking Google for sign-in does not connect your Gmail, Calendar, or other Google services, and disconnecting it does not affect any integration you have set up.
Set a password before you disconnect
If you created your account with Google and have never set a password, Google is currently your only way in. Praxivara will not let you remove it until you have another way to sign in — otherwise you would be locked out.
To add a password:
- Open Settings and go to the Security tab.
- In the Sign-in section, choose Set password.
- Enter a password that meets the strength rules, then confirm it.
Your password needs at least 8 characters and must include a lowercase letter, an uppercase letter, and a number.
Disconnect Google
Once you have a password set, you can unlink Google at any time and go back to signing in with your email and password.
- Open Settings and go to the Security tab.
- Find the Connected sign-in methods section.
- Choose Disconnect on the Google row.
After disconnecting, the one-tap Google option no longer appears on the sign-in screen. Sign in with your email and password instead.
What disconnecting does and doesn't do
Disconnecting Google only removes the sign-in link. It does not delete or change anything in your account.
- Your chats, agents, files, and settings stay exactly as they were.
- Your profile and organization details are unchanged.
- Two-factor authentication and any backup codes remain in place.
- You simply sign in with your email and password from then on.
Troubleshooting
The Disconnect option is unavailable
This usually means your account has no password yet, so Google is your only sign-in method. Set a password first (see above), then the option to disconnect becomes available.
Google connects to the wrong account
If the linked Google account isn't the one you intended, disconnect it, then connect again and pick the correct account when Google prompts you. You may need to sign out of Google in your browser first so it offers the account chooser.
You'd like even stronger protection
For an added layer of security beyond one-tap sign-in, consider turning on two-factor authentication in the same Security tab. It adds a required second step at sign-in, so a stolen password alone can't get into your account.
