Distributing pool credits to members Guide

Buy a shared credit pool for your workspace and allocate credits to individual members, then reclaim them whenever you need to.

When you run a team workspace, you can buy a shared pool of credits and hand them out to individual members on top of whatever their seat already includes. This gives you a single, central place to fund your team's usage and to move credits where they are needed most.

How pool credits work

A credit pool belongs to the workspace, not to any one person. As the workspace owner or a team admin, you fund the pool and then decide how much each member can draw from it. Members spend from their allocation as they chat, run agents, and use connected channels, and you can adjust or reclaim those allocations at any time.

Pool credits are managed per workspace. If you own more than one team, each workspace keeps its own pool and its own balances, so credits never cross from one workspace into another.

Note: Only the workspace owner and team admins can purchase pool credits or change member allocations. Regular members can see and spend what they have been given, but cannot allocate credits to themselves or others.

Buy credits for the pool

Before you can distribute anything, the pool needs a balance to draw from.

  1. Make sure you are in the workspace you want to fund. You can confirm and switch workspaces from the account menu at the bottom of the sidebar.
  2. Open your workspace settings and go to the team management area.
  3. Add credits to the shared pool and confirm the purchase. The balance becomes available to distribute right away.

The pool tops up on your regular billing cycle, so once it is set up you have a predictable, recurring balance to share across the team.

Allocate credits to a member

With a funded pool, you can give each member the amount that fits their role.

  1. Open the team management area in your workspace settings.
  2. Find the member you want to fund in the list of teammates.
  3. Set the amount of pool credits to allocate to that member and save.

The credits move from the shared pool to that member's balance. They can start using them immediately, in addition to anything their seat already includes.

Adjusting an allocation

You can raise or lower a member's allocation whenever priorities shift. Increasing it draws more from the pool; lowering it returns the difference to the pool for someone else to use. There is no need to remove and re-add a member to change what they have.

Reclaim credits back to the pool

If a member no longer needs their allocation, or you want to redirect credits to a busier part of the team, you can pull unused credits back into the shared pool.

  1. Open the team management area and select the member.
  2. Reduce their allocation, or set it back to zero to reclaim what remains.
  3. Save your change. The reclaimed credits return to the pool and are ready to allocate elsewhere.

Credits a member has already spent cannot be reclaimed. You can only pull back the portion of their allocation that is still unused.

Keep an eye on balances

The team management area shows your remaining pool balance alongside each member's current allocation, so you can see at a glance where your credits have gone and how much is left to distribute. Review it periodically to make sure active members have what they need and idle allocations are freed up.

Tip: Start members with a modest allocation and top them up as their usage grows. It is easy to add more from the pool, and it keeps unused credits available for the rest of the team.
