If a device vanished from your active sessions list, or the same device seems to appear more than once, that's expected behavior. Praxivara automatically ends sessions that have been inactive for a while as a security measure, and each fresh sign-in creates its own session entry.
Why sessions end on their own
To help keep your account secure, Praxivara signs out sessions that have been idle for an extended period. If you step away from Praxivara and don't return for a while, that session is ended automatically and you'll need to sign in again the next time you visit.
This is why a device you were using earlier may no longer appear in your active sessions list. Nothing is wrong with your account, and none of your data, chats, or agents are affected. The session simply expired and was cleared.
Note: Idle timeout protects you on shared or public computers, where you might close the browser without formally signing out. Even if you forget, an unattended session won't stay open indefinitely.
Why the same device can appear twice
Your active sessions list shows one entry for each separate sign-in, not one entry per physical device. A single laptop or phone can therefore show up more than once. Common reasons include:
- You signed in again after an earlier session timed out, so the old and new entries both appear for a short time.
- You use more than one browser on the same computer (for example, Chrome and Safari), each of which is tracked separately.
- You signed in using a private or incognito window, which is treated as a distinct session from your normal window.
- You cleared your browser data or used a different browser profile, which starts a new session rather than resuming the old one.
Older or expired entries drop off the list over time. If you'd rather not wait, you can sign them out yourself.
How to review and clean up your sessions
- Open Settings and go to the Security tab.
- Find the active sessions area, which lists the sessions currently signed in to your account.
- Review the entries. Your current session is marked so you can tell it apart from the others.
- Sign out any session you don't recognize or no longer need.
Signing out a session immediately ends access for that entry. The person or device using it will need your credentials to sign in again.
What to do if a device you don't recognize appears
If you see a session you can't account for, treat it as a precaution rather than a certainty. Duplicate entries for your own devices are common, but it's always worth a quick check.
- Sign out the unfamiliar session from the active sessions list.
- Change your password. Doing so signs out every other device automatically, while your current browser stays signed in.
- Turn on two-factor authentication if you haven't already, so a password alone can't be used to sign in.
Tip: Changing your password is the fastest way to clear every other session at once. It's a good routine step whenever something looks unfamiliar.
Staying signed in longer
Idle timeout is a fixed security feature and can't be turned off. To avoid being signed out unexpectedly, keep Praxivara open in an active tab while you're working, and sign back in whenever you return after a break. Your workspace, chats, and agents are always waiting exactly as you left them.
