Emailing your assistant (the Email channel)
Turn on Email to get an address for your assistant, write to it from any inbox, and choose which of your addresses it answers.

On this page
The Email channel gives your Praxivara assistant its own email address. Write to it from the mail app you already use — a question, a task, a document to read — and it replies to you in the same thread. Like every channel, the conversation also appears in your Praxivara chat on the web, as a chat called Email.
Turn on Email
- In the app, open Your devices from the sidebar and choose Email.
- Choose Turn on Email. Your assistant's address appears — it ends in @assistant.praxivara.com.
- Copy the address and save it as a contact in your mail app so it is easy to find later.
The address is yours to keep. You do not need to reconnect anything on a new phone or computer — any mail app that can send from one of your allowed addresses works.
Who can email it
Your assistant only answers mail from addresses on your list, under Who can email it. Your account email is on the list from the start and cannot be removed. To write from another address — a work account, a second personal address:
- Enter the address under Who can email it and choose Add.
- Open that address's inbox and find the message from Praxivara with a six-digit code.
- Enter the code back in the app. The address is now allowed.
Mail from any address that is not on the list is ignored, without a reply. That is deliberate: only the addresses you chose can reach your assistant.
What you can send
- Plain questions and requests, exactly as you would type them in chat.
- Attachments. PDFs, spreadsheets, documents and photos come along, and your assistant reads and works with them.
- Forwarded mail. Forward a message with a line such as “Summarize this” or “Draft a reply”.
- Replies. Reply to your assistant's answer to continue; it reads only your new text, not the quoted history under it.
To start over instead of continuing the current conversation, send an email whose whole message is new chat.
Approvals over email
Your permission mode applies here too. When your assistant needs to check with you first, you get an email describing the action: reply YES to allow it or NO to skip it. When the email offers YES ALWAYS, that reply adds the action to your Always allowed list.
Good to know
- Automatic messages — out-of-office replies, newsletters, notifications — are ignored even when they come from an allowed address, so a forwarding rule cannot flood your assistant.
- Praxivara also verifies that a message genuinely came from the address it claims to. A message that fails that check is treated as if it came from a stranger.
- Replies arrive as ordinary email, so they are readable in any mail app, with no formatting to break.
