Praxivara Phone lets you rent real, dedicated phone numbers so your AI agents can answer incoming calls and place outbound calls. This guide walks you through searching for an available number, reviewing what it will cost, and completing the purchase.
Before you begin
To buy a number, you'll need a payment method on file and a billing address so the correct tax can be calculated. If either is missing, you'll be prompted to add it during checkout.
The number of phone numbers you can hold at once depends on your plan. If you've already reached your plan's limit, you'll need to release a number before buying another, or move to a plan that includes more.
Search for an available number
- Open Praxivara Phone from your Channels area.
- Start a new number search.
- Choose the country you want the number to be based in.
- Narrow the results using any of the available filters:
- Area code — find a number local to a specific region.
- Digits it contains — search for numbers that include a particular sequence, which can make a number easier to remember.
- Review the list of available numbers that match your search.
Tip: Availability changes as numbers are claimed. If you don't see a number you like, try a broader area code or remove the digit filter to see more options.
Review tax and total
Each Praxivara Phone number carries a recurring monthly fee. When you select a number to buy, you'll see a summary before you confirm:
- The number you're purchasing.
- Applicable tax, calculated from your billing address.
- The total due today.
Because you're buying partway through your billing cycle, the amount charged today is adjusted for the remaining days in the cycle. From then on, the number renews with your regular billing.
Buy the number
- Select the number you want and open its purchase summary.
- Confirm the tax and total look correct.
- Select buy (or the confirm option shown) to complete the purchase.
- If your bank requests an extra verification step, follow the prompts to approve the payment. Once approved, the purchase completes automatically.
After the purchase succeeds, the number is added to your account and ready to set up.
After you buy
A newly purchased number doesn't answer calls until you set it up. To put it to work:
- Give the number a label so it's easy to recognize.
- Assign an agent to answer inbound calls and write the greeting callers hear.
- Turn Accept inbound calls on when you're ready to receive calls.
- Choose which number is the default for outbound AI calls, if you hold more than one.
Note: Incoming calls will be dropped if no agent is connected to a number or if inbound calling is turned off. Assign an agent before you share the number.
Troubleshooting
You're asked for a card or billing address
A payment method and billing address are required before you can buy. Add them when prompted, then return to complete the purchase.
An extra verification step appears
Some cards ask you to confirm the payment with your bank. This is a normal security check — approve it to finish buying the number.
You've reached your plan's number limit
Each plan allows a set number of phone numbers. Release one you no longer need, or move to a plan that includes more, then try again.
The number you wanted is gone
Numbers are shared until claimed, so availability can change quickly. Run the search again or adjust your filters to find another option.
