Praxivara Phone lets you rent real phone numbers so your AI agents can answer incoming calls and place outbound calls on your behalf. You choose the country and area code, connect an agent to handle inbound calls, and pick a default number for outbound calling.
What Praxivara Phone is for
A rented number gives your agents a real phone presence. Callers can dial the number and speak with the agent you have assigned, and your assistant or an agent can place outbound calls to your contacts.
You can rent more than one number, up to the limit included with your plan. Each number carries a monthly fee, which is prorated for the current billing cycle when you buy it, so you only pay for the portion of the cycle you use.
Note: The number of phone numbers you can hold at once depends on your plan tier. Higher plans allow more numbers.
Rent a number
- Open Praxivara Phone from the Channels area.
- Search available numbers by country, area code, or specific digits you want the number to contain.
- Select a number and review the total, including any applicable tax.
- Confirm the purchase. A payment method must be on file before you can buy, and you may be asked to complete a card authentication step.
Once the purchase completes, the number is added to your account and is ready to configure.
Set up inbound calls
To have a number answer incoming calls, connect an agent to it:
- Open the number's settings in Praxivara Phone.
- Assign the agent you want to answer inbound calls.
- Write the greeting the caller hears when the call connects.
- Turn Accept inbound calls on.
You can toggle inbound calling on or off at any time. If no agent is connected, or inbound calling is turned off, incoming calls will not be answered.
Set up outbound calls
You can label each number and choose which one is used by default for outbound calls. Your assistant or an agent can then place an outbound AI call to a contact when you ask.
Choose your default outbound number
If you hold more than one number, set the one you want as the default for outbound calls in the number's settings. You can change the default whenever you like.
Manage your numbers
Label and organize
Give each number a clear label so you can tell them apart at a glance, for example by team, region, or purpose.
Release a number
When you no longer need a number, you can release it. Releasing stops the monthly billing for that number.
Tip: If an agent depends on a number to make or answer calls, releasing that number stops those calls. Releasing cannot be undone, so reassign the agent first if you still need it.
Costs and limits
Each rented number has a monthly fee, prorated when you buy it partway through a billing cycle. Outbound AI calling is billed by the minute, similar to the voice line. Your plan sets how many numbers you can hold and how many outbound calls you can place each month.
You can review your phone usage at any time from Praxivara Phone.
Troubleshooting
- You are asked for a payment method or billing address before buying. Add a payment method and, if prompted, a billing address so tax can be calculated, then try again.
- Incoming calls are not being answered. Confirm an agent is connected to the number and that Accept inbound calls is turned on.
- You cannot place an outbound call. Check that you have not reached your plan's monthly outbound-call limit and that you have enough credits available.
- You cannot rent another number. You may have reached the number limit for your plan. Higher plans allow more numbers.
