When you call in and talk to your assistant over the voice line, your conversation may be recorded and stored securely. This article explains what that means, why it happens, and how to manage your voice channel.

Are my call-in conversations recorded?

Yes — calls placed to the Praxivara voice number may be recorded and stored securely. Recording helps keep your conversation continuous with the rest of your Praxivara account, so what you say out loud can be reflected back in your chat history alongside your other channels.

Because a voice call is another way of reaching the same assistant, treating the call like the rest of your conversation is what lets the assistant remember context and follow up on what you discussed.

Note: Anyone who may be on a call with you should be aware that the conversation can be recorded. If you handle sensitive information over the phone, keep your organization's own privacy and consent obligations in mind.

How recordings are stored

Recordings are stored securely and are associated with your account. They are treated as part of your account data, the same as your web and messaging conversations. You reach the voice line only after calling from a phone you registered and entering your PIN, which keeps access to your assistant tied to you.

How the voice line works

If you haven't set up the voice channel yet, here's the basic flow:

  1. Open the Voice channel and register your country, the phone number you'll call from, and a 6-digit PIN.
  2. Activate voice calling.
  3. Call the number shown from your registered phone.
  4. Enter your PIN on the keypad when prompted.
  5. Talk naturally with your assistant once you're connected.

Only phones you've registered can reach your assistant this way, and the PIN must be entered on your phone's keypad.

Managing your voice channel

Change your PIN or registered phone

You can update your PIN at any time from the Voice channel screen. If you want to call in from a different phone, update the registered number there as well. Your PIN must be exactly 6 digits.

Turn off voice calling

If you no longer want to use the voice line, you can disconnect voice calling from the Voice channel screen. Doing so stops the call-in option from being active for your account.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to be recorded to use the voice line?

Recording is part of how the call-in voice channel works so your spoken conversation stays continuous with the rest of your account. If you prefer not to have a conversation recorded, you can use one of the messaging channels or the web app instead.

Can other people hear or access my recordings?

Recordings are stored securely and tied to your account. Access to your assistant over the voice line requires calling from a registered phone and entering your PIN.

Why isn't the voice option showing for me?

Voice calling must be enabled on the platform and may depend on your plan. If you don't see the voice option, or you see a message that a call-in number is coming soon, it may not yet be available for your account.
